No direct messages anymore

The app doesn’t support direct messaging anymore and wants me to install a new app for a feature that used to be available, in an obvious violation of Apple’s UI/UX guidelines.
The only way for reading and writing messages without installing that external app is now through the facebook mobile website, tho they detect the user agent and try to block it…
