Autorefresh is of the devil

Sometimes when I have been using the Facebook app for a bit, I stop to do something else (shocking, I know). I might come back 15 minutes later, maybe hours later. Nothing refreshes so I have to drag down to get new posts.

HOWEVER, if I am in the middle of making a comment, switch to answer a text for 15 seconds, then return, the app will have refreshed me right back to my feed.

CONSISTENCY would be nice. I absolutely cannot count on being gone any amount of time from the app and return to where I left off. IF THERE IS A COMMENT BOX ACTIVE, even if blank, the app should not refresh. The way it works now actively damages the ability to interact on FB and the rest of the world at the same time.

Please make autorefresh optional or at least set an away time before refreshing that is several minutes (at least 3) so that I don’t need to have a dedicated FB device.
