I can’t delete people without the app?

I find it incredibly stupid that i was not allowed to remove a person from my friends without downloading the app.
I didn’t want the app on purpose. For that matter I barely wanted Facebook in the first place, So when I went to delete someone to find out I needed to download ANOTHER useless app on my phone just to do it? Bull.
